Marshall Township Board Meeting

August 21, 2017

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bosserd at 7:03 p.m.

Present:  Bosserd, Lyng, Quinn, Albaugh, George

Pledge of Allegiance by Fire Chief Steve Riggs

Motion to approve the Agenda by Quinn, 2nd by Lyng, with the addition of #5 under New Business, a thank you to Captain Art Draper for his work on Verona Rd.  Motion passed.

Audience Comments:  Roland Owens questioned the parking of a County mowing truck in the Township’s parking lot.

Reports were accepted as presented.

Motion by Lyng, 2nd by Quinn to approve:

Outstanding bills of $52,183.36

Appointment of Jeffrey Albaugh to the MAEDA Board, with Robert Lyng as alternate

FY 2016-17 Corrective Action Plan requested by the State Treasury Department

Thank you to Captain Art Draper of Calhoun County Sheriff Dept for his work on Verona Rd.

Yes – Bosserd, Albaugh, Quinn, Lyng, George

No – None          Motion carried

Discussion:  Treasurer Albaugh noted that the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners has proposed fixing L Drive North, with Convis Twp paying 15%, Marshall Township naming it as a priority, and the County paying 85%.  Vic Potter was instrumental in pushing this through.

Audience comments:  a resident on 15 Mile Rd. asked if there was anything to be done re: heavy gravel trucks being overweight and travelling too fast.  This will be referred to Emmett Twp enforcement officer.  The deep manhole on N. Kalamazoo will be taken care of by Mr. Potter.

There were no further Board comments.
